What is the Meadowlands Sports Complex Fan Code of Conduct?
The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, our teams, and our show promoters are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sports and entertainment experience. Our fans have the right to expect an environment where:
- Employees, players and team personnel respect and appreciate each and every fan.
- Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all Stadium and team personnel.
- Guests will enjoy the event experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language and obscene gestures.
- Guests will consume alcoholic behaviors in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
- Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
- Guests who engage in fighting, throwing objects or attempting to enter the field of play will be immediately ejected.
- Guests will smoke in designated smoking areas only.
- Obscene or indecent messages on signs or clothing will not be permitted.
- Guests will comply with requests from staff regarding operations and emergency response procedures.
Facility staff members have been trained to intervene where necessary to ensure that the above expectations are met, and guests are encouraged to report any inappropriate behavior to the nearest usher, security guard or guest services staff member. Guests who choose not adhere to these provisions will be subject to ejection without refund and revocation of season tickets, and may also be in violation of city ordinances resulting in possible arrest and prosecution.
We thank you for adhering to the provisions of the Fan Code of Conduct.
Can I tailgate?
- The parking lots are open FIVE hours prior to gametime.
- Tailgating has become a ritual at the Stadium and is permitted provided guests tailgate in the same space occupied by their vehicle. Please be courteous to your fellow fans -- open parking spaces should not be used for tailgating. Thw NJSEA and the Jets are actively monitoring all lots with additional security and there are increased patrols to enforce the one car, one spot policy.
- Ticket Holders may not reserve adjacent parking spaces for others.
- Tailgating is not permitted in the parking garage which is located next to Continental Airlines Arena.
- If you have a large tailgate party, stadium management strongly encourages you to arrive early and use the grass berms and paved areas on the islands located between the parking lots. This will allow you to fully enjoy your party while being courteous to your fellow fans.
- Grills are permitted for tailgating enjoyment, provided guests do so only in the same space occupied by their vehicle. However, their use near buildings or in areas where guests or property may be damaged is strictly prohibited.
- Please do not discard hot coals near vehicles or in plastic waste receptacles; there have been several car and trash fires over the past few years. For your safety and convenience, hot coal bins have been provided for the disposal of charcoal. These large, orange “hot charcoal” bins are located on the islands/plazas between the parking lots. PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD TRASH IN THE HOT COAL BINS OR HOT COAL ASHES IN THE TRASH CONTAINERS.
- Open fires are not permitted
- Trash receptacles are located throughout the Sports Complex parking lots and near the Stadium entrances. Please bag and dispose of your trash to make it safer for vehicles exiting the Sports Complex after the game.
- Outside catering companies are not permitted on the Sports Complex. ARAMARK is the official food service provider/caterer for the Meadowlands Sports Complex. To schedule a catered event, please contact ARAMARK at (201) 935-5660.

What is Jets Fans First?
We've heard the voices of our fans who want to watch games in a family friendly atmosphere. We have listened to those concerns and taken steps to address them. That's why we launched a new program, Jets Fans First. The Jets, in conjunction with the N.J. Sports and Exposition Authority and the N.J. State Police, have enacted a number of new policies and are enforcing existing ones this season. This initiative is aimed at heightening the experience of Jets fans attending games while actively addressing improper fan behavior. A new text messaging system is in place that enables you to notify stadium security of any situation in the stands. The new Green Team tries to ensure that we are delivering a great gameday experience. If you have any questions or other concerns please contact us at jetsfansfirst@newyorkjets.com.
What is the new text messaging system?
A text messaging system has been introduced to enable fans to notify stadium security of any incidents while they are in the stadium. A similar system was successfully implemented by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007. The team is working closely with the NJSEA to respond to complaints of improper fan behavior. The NJSEA is proactively monitoring and issuing warnings. Bad behavior will not be tolerated.
To text: Open a blank text message and address the message to 78247. Type the word NJSEA followed by a space, the issue and the location.
What will happen to someone who is ejected from a game?
Any Jets season ticket holder who is ejected from a game will have his/her season tickets revoked. If a non-season ticket holder is ejected, the ticket holder of record will be warned by letter of the incident and informed that a second ejection will lead to the revocation of his/her season tickets. If a fan uses TicketExchange to purchase tickets, he/she is required to agree to the Fan Code of Conduct before being allowed to purchase the tickets.
When is Jets Fan Appreciation Day?
The team is holding a Fan Appreciation Day on December 14th when the Jets take on division rivals, the Buffalo Bills at the Meadowlands. Jets Fan Appreciation Day will feature sponsor giveaways, great prizes, and other activities by which the Jets will express to you, our fans, how important you are to our history and our success.
